Our TRAC was well represented at the TRAC Annual Meeting, held February 23–24, 2026, at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID). The meeting provided a platform for early-stage investigators across the TRAC network to share cutting-edge research and foster collaboration in tuberculosis science.
Dr. Kayvan Zainabadi, Assistant Professor of Molecular Microbiology in Medicine at Weill Cornell, presented his work on the transcriptional regulation of the differentially detectable phenotype in Mycobacterium tuberculosis.
Dr. Vijay Soni, Instructor of Microbiology in Medicine at Weill Cornell, shared findings on RNA polymerase-mediated regulation of intrinsic antibiotic resistance and bacterial cell division.
These presentations highlight the strength of TRAC’s early-career investigators and their contributions to advancing the molecular and translational science of tuberculosis. Their work continues to inform innovative approaches to diagnosis, treatment, and ultimately, TB control.
